Juliet Mills

Juliet Mills, the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress, now appears in the NBC TV show, 'Passions'. Juliet is a member of the famous British acting family that includes her father, Sir John Mills and sister, Haley Mills.

Juliet, did your father influence you to take up acting or was it something you got into on your own?

Of course he did – by his very life, his very example and the environment that I was brought up in. But, he did not encourage or discourage any of us. He let us make up our own minds.

What is it like to be on a daily soap opera? Is it fun?

It is first and foremost very hard work! But I have a wonderful part and I do have fun. The company, cast and crew of “Passions” are wonderful to work with.

Are there any similarities between you and the character you play in 'Passions,' despite the fact that she is a witch?

I play the role of Tabitha Lenox in 'Passions', and yes, I think there are similarities. I believe in magic and am interested in the spirit of life, reincarnation and the powers of the mind and positive thinking.

Do you ever travel or is filming done on location? What is your work schedule like?

We shot on location in our very first weeks, in our very first shows. I would like to go on location again, Hawaii would be good!! But normally, we tape five days a week in the studio starting at about 8:00 a.m. and continuing until about 8:00 p.m.

Aside from your role in “Passions,” which of your previous television roles are your favorites?

I would have to say “Nanny” from “Nanny and the Professor.” Like Tabitha, Phoebe Figalilly was a lovely character to play.

Do you have any new productions coming up, and if so can you tell us about them?

I don’t have time for any other productions!

Can you tell us something about yourself; your hobbies (if you have time), favorite sport, favorite foods, do you have a pet?

My hobbies are cooking and gardening, especially growing orchids. I love soccer, my husband and I support a British team called Chelsea, and I also enjoy tennis. We have 3 cats.

What advice would you give to a teenager that was interested in pursuing an acting career?

You have to be passionate about it. You have to be able to take rejection and disappointment at first and not let your confidence be undermined. Do some work in the theater if you can. It is the best training you can get.

I LOVE PASSIONS I watch it everday since I normally get out of school at eleven. My favorite characters would be Tabitha, Theresa, Fox and Basically everyone. I can't not watch it, I am obscessed about Passions I wish I was on it sometimes.

I think Juliet Mill's plays a major role in the show. I actually used to watch the show a lot. I remember this girl was pregnant with the "bad" guy baby and she had to tell he boyfriend. I don't have a chance to see it now cause I have school, but I should start to tape it again.
