The Churchills
AUDIO: | RealPlayer

How did you all meet?

Ron Haney and Bart Schoudel started the band. We met through mutual friends. Ron and I saw Kim Henry singing in the East Village. Phil Bloom wasn’t the original drummer for the band. Right before we went into the recording studio the drummer quit and the owner is the one who recommended Phil.

What do you think makes you unique?

We feel one thing that makes us unique is that we have 3 writers in our group. We write our songs. I wouldn’t say it’s something that makes us unique, but we are proud that are a “clean band” (no alcohol or drugs).

How do you want teens to view you?

We would just like teens to know that they should think for themselves and not be so influenced by everything around them. Since we have gone through those teen years we know the kinds of pressures that teens have. We would like to be able to go to High Schools one day and speak to teens about how they can do and be anything they set their minds to. We would like to be able to give something back.

How is it to be on stage?

We haven’t had many concerts yet. We have opened for some big names though. We have appeared on Spin City with Michael J. Fox. Our song “Everybody gets what they deserve” was in the Final Episode that Michael appeared in.

What was it like appearing on Spin City?

It was great everybody was really nice. We became pretty friendly with Michael and will hopefully be doing some work with him in the future for his foundation.

Have you been influenced by any musicians?

We are influenced by many different kinds of musicians in some way. Crowded House, Weezer, John Coltrain, Miles Davis, and Bach to name a few.

I'm sorry, but I don't know who you are. Please start interviewing people that we have heard of. Other than that, I'm looking forward to more interviews.

I :) what you said about teens! I live in a small town and it's really easy to become a...well,a mindless clone is the nicest way to put it. Don't ever let yourself be influenced to change for the business because you're great the way you are!

I agree with how you want teens to feel, its very true. If everyone realized that they should just think for themselves than life could be a lot happier. Also, I just wanted to say that I just heard one of your songs and it was really good!!
