Solange, it is great to be able to interview you today. We think your album 'Solo Star' is hot and features some awesome songs.

Can you share with your TeenFX fans the names of the artists who have influenced you the most?

Throughout my career a lot of artists have influenced me. Janet Jackson had the most influence, but other artists including Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, and Lauryn Hill all have influenced me, but Janet was the one that gave me the idea of pursuing a music career.

How do you feel about your new album ‘Solo Star’? What can you tell us about it?

"Solo Star' is a good representation of me because it's unique and has multiple styles of music.

It has a lot of R&B in it and also has a reggae feel. Some songs have a little alternative in them. There is also a bit of dance and hip-hop in the album.

How does it feel to move on from being part of other artists’ albums to finally having your own album?

When it’s other peoples projects you want to make sure that it’s perfect because a lot of times you do stuff that is better for other people than it is for yourself. When Kelly was writing her album, I was really able to get into it because she’s a lot older than me and lyric wise, I got to put my all into it. It’s a great feeling to finally work on my own album.

Have you developed any videos yet?

Yes! My first single ‘Feelin’ You’ is out on video now, and it’s #7 on TRL. Watch MTV to check out it.

What song on your album means the most to you?

‘This Could Be Love’. That is the most mature song on the album. That’s the song that I was kind of like. I forgot everyone else and did a song that I really wanted to do.

Besides your career, do you have any other hobbies or interests?

My whole life, besides my career, revolves around my little puppy. I also enjoy writing. I write mostly music, but sometimes poetry. I just write whatever I’m feeling. I love to skate, bowl, and shop, too.

Do you plan on pursuing any other kind of career after this or are you just sticking with the music?

I would love to get into acting. I have received some offers but nothing is definite as of now. But hopefully that will change soon.

Do you have any advice to give to your TeenFX fans and to teens who are trying to make it into the music industry?

My biggest advice to TeenFX fans trying to make it in the music industry would be not to compromise! Just be yourself and never give up.

I feel this advice could be used not just by teens pursuing a music career, but by all teens in their everyday lives as well.
