How did you get started in the music business?

I started about 3 years ago, by writing music.

How did you start writing music for other artists?

I wrote songs and took them to local producers and record companies. They liked what they read and my name just got out there.

How does it feel to be working on your own project and not for other artists?

It feels good, but I enjoy working with other artists. Working on my own project means I have to wait for the album to be released rather than when I appear on a track for another artist. There is more pressure this way, especially because I am my biggest critic.

What was it like growing up with a father in the military and having to move all the time?

Even though my dad was in the military, he was cool. It wasn't bad at all, it was actually fun. We were always moving around and I got to meet a lot of people and see a lot of things. The only bad part was all the packing and unpacking.

What do you do that most appeals to teens?

I'm cool, I have my own style. I'm young and I'm not afraid to try new things that other people wouldn't do.

What would you like to tell teens about yourself?

I'm a hard worker, not a moocher. I'm fun and I keep it real. I'm human, I'm me, that's what makes us individuals. So just be yourself and don't change for anyone.

What do you feel is wrong with today's teens? And what do you feel should change?

I think that they often make too many excuses for not succeeding and that people are backing out of trying to be role models for teens. There is a whole miscommunication with teens. They should be listened to because they need someone to talk to and listen to. One last thing: answer your own questions.

Is it hard to stay close to friends and family with such a busy work schedule?

No, there is always time. I always stay in touch with my family and friends. Especially my family, because they were there before I got into the business and they will always be there. You never know what tomorrow might bring, I would hate for something to happen and not be there with my family. I would cancel a show for my family, family comes first. The only thing I can't really do anymore is family trips.

What advice would you give to teens that are trying to get into the music industry?

Don't do it. If you are going to do it though, you have to be able to take "no" as an answer and you have to have a strong mind. It's a lot more business than fun. Timing is everything.

Where would you like to see yourself in 10 years from now?

I would like to be rich, maybe have a few kids, and just chillin and laying low. Definitely still working though, and I would like to know that people respect my music.

What do you think of your music lyrics?

They don't promote negativity. Just like "sticks and stones don't break your bones and words will never hurt you" use your own mind and don't take my words literally.
