Describe how you came to realize that making music was your "calling"?
Singing started as a hobby for me at age 14, it developed into a love, I knew it was my calling. I feel so blessed to be doing what I love!
What was your dream before you became a member of the group (if any). Any other big plans before your musical career?
Computer programming. I am glad that I have that kind of skill under my belt.
What do you think about our new President?
What do you do that most appeals to teens?
Acting crazy while telling them the truth. We appreciate that people really identify with our music. We like to tell people true stories while making them laugh, despite the harsh realities of love and life...
What artist(s) would you love to work with in the future?
Playa, India, and K-Ci, and Dr. Dre.
What CDs are in your car, or your CD player at home right now?
India Irie, Joe, Dave Holister, R Kelly, Kelly Price, Music, Dave Matthews Band.
How do you feel about Napster?
We feel they should do the right thing by the artist as well as the audience. I do not like the idea of people listening to music I just finished recording in the studios. It's probably hard for others to understand. You would have to have someone come to your job and steal your work and smugly tell you that it won't affect your livelihood.
Are teens today different from when you were a teen?
Yes. I think that in general, they are less concerned with authority. I also feel that they are the 1st generation with the "world at their fingertips". Most kids are Internet savvy and that skill can help you out in almost every aspect of life.
What advice would you give a teenager that feels that they don't have a chance at getting signed to a label?
First make sure you have a college education as back-up. Then if you truly believe you're talented never give up on your dreams, just continue to work hard at it.
