all you people who say you anime and people who say you hate it all i have to say is the only real difference between anime and cartoons is that anime is japanese. all you people who hate anime might as well just say you hate cartoons. the majority of american cartoons have some sort of japanese influence (best example avatar) just get over it already. and those who anime stop acting like dictatorial obssessive psychopaths | |

| There is no inherent difference with the exception that the term "cartoon" refers to both animated and printed works, whereas "anime" is short for "animation" and cannot refer to, say, the political cartoons in the newspaper. | |

wrong, on many accounts. anime and cartoons are different. the people in japan think of anime differently from how americans think about cartoons. most existing animes have intense story plots. american cartoons are largely meant to be humorous and have a different effect on people. mainly the fact that they are seen as childish. yes, some anime is for kids and someis meant to be ny but most of it is more adult and most "cartoons" are childish. | |
