I'm so sick and tired of artists like Ciara and Rihanna!!! They have mediocre talent, nothing special. Yet all of a sudden they release one catchy song and they're famous!!! People always wonder what happend to stars like Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, Madonna, and more recently Britney Spears. But it 's these unworthy stars that are fogging up the hollywood scene. They take up the space for REAL stars to be discovered. Same goes for Mandy Moore, Katie Holmes, Jessica Simpson, JoJo, Keira Knightley, Scarlett Johanson, Kirsten, Beyonce, and more. I agree SOME are talented, SOME are good role models, SOME make the front page of tabloids,SOME are good looking but in a few years they will be forgotten. Let's face it people, these people are not stars, they're just celebrities!!! And YES there is a difference!!!

they do produce some catchy songs, and i think ciara can totally dance! but they are sort of "image based"

I honeslty think the role models are the best celebrities. Beyonce is the best out of them all on your list but she has some whiny songs composed. I used to like Brittney Spears when I was younger when she wasn't on the drugs and alcohol. You're talking about 1999 or millenium here but ever since she got on the drugs, she never did well since then. Rihanna is okay. I like her new song in 2007, 'Umbrella.' The dance chreography on the music video and the song in general is awesome.

I agree with you. I don't even know who Ciara and Rihanna are, and yet they're so popular. It's probably just me, but I'm sooooooooo sick of all these random people who no one's ever heard of being such a big deal. We really do need real stars!!!
