I am hear to spread the message that i detest animal abuse. I know alot of others out there hate it to. We need harsher punishments for animal abusers, i read one story in the paper about a woman who left her little dog in her bathroom for a week or more, the poor thing starved to death and after a  neighbour attempted to get it to a vet and  it the damage to the little animal was to extensive. Want to know the woman's excuse,s he was sick so she stayed at her mothers for a while,and what you can't pick up a phone call a local neighbour and say", hey do you mind feeding my dog, taking her out for a walk and giving her a little attention", is it that hard. Her penalty, she can't own another pet such as a dog or cat for a while, how's that gonna stop her in the futur from buying another pet, it's not. She can easily go to the pet store buya new puppy and take it home to neglect it, claiming" she was sick for a couple of days at her moms house".
I feel people who neglect animals, abuse the, or mistreat them in anyway should have there pets taken aways from them and given to responsable loving pet owners, then the previous abusive owner should not be able to own a pet for a long time if not the rest of there life, not to mention they should have to pay the animals medical bills and get charged for animal mistreatment. People need to stop with excuses for harming there pets and other animals, there's not excuse for harming an innocent creature in such cruel ways, If a person physically attacks another person they could get sent to jail,communtiy service, pay huge sums of money for medical costs so why dont' animal abusers get put in jail, serve comunity service,etc it's still a innocent creatueres, similar in a way to a young infant or child, they can't always defend themselves.
Mistreatment of animals is a big deal, we need to have higher punishments and show there is no excuse for cruel treatment of animals.

| Omg i so agree with those statements. My aunt found a dog on time outside her house and it's pads on it's feet were completly gone. the vet said that it looked like the dog was tied up behind a car or truck and dragged like that. The poor thing was tramatized, i had to work with it for months before it would trust ppl and wear a collar or be taken for a walk. so harsher punishment would be a great improvement. | |

| unfortuneatly there are peeps out there like that...way too many. animal cops on animal planet proves it and breaks my heart. peeps rn't the only ones that do it though. i just wrote an article on iams i hope they post. go to peta.com and type iams in the search box and see what they do-note-not for those with weak stomachs. | |

i found my sweet puppy misty on the side of the road you could till how the way she came to food she was starving
we have had her about 4or5 years know but her prevus owner abused her u can barly pet her now with her not gettin spooked | |

| my dogs previous owner dumped the dog on the street and the animal shelter picked it up....somehow one of its eyes was gone | |

We saved our Maine Coon cat, Cheech, from an abusive owner about three years ago. The guy that owned him was starving him and ground cigarettes into his back. He still has patches of fur missing on his back. Cheech is now back to a healthy weight and is spoiled rotton. I  him so much. I too have watched the show Animal Cops and it is disgusting what some people do to animals. | |

| Abusing animals should be against the law!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Animals are living things too!!! They should be treated with and kindness. Not abuse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate seeing ANY animal getting abused. I mean, I'll admit it. I can't stand dogs. They get on my nerves, BIG TIME. But still, I would never EVER ABUSE ONE!!! And even seeing a dog getting abused would make me sad and disgusted. And I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T STAND SEE CATS GET ABUSED!! NOW THAT JUST MAKES ME SICK!!!! I LOVE CATS SOOOO MUCH AND IF ANYONE EVER ABUSED A CAT, I WOULD KICK THE ABUSER IN THE you know where AND THEN TAKE THE POOR KITTY HOME AND RAISE IT AS MY OWN!!! ANIMAL ABUSERS DON'T DESERVE TO LIVE!!!! AND IF THEY HAVE TO LIVE, THEY SHOULD LIVE BEHIND BARS FOR THE REST OF THEIR PATHETIC LIVES!!!!!! Awww that's sad. I found my dog on the side of the road. What we didn't know was that she was pregnant. After she had her puppies we gave them away. We gave one away to a little boy whose puppy was run over and another to a woman whose dog got s  or poisoned...I forgot. Anyway the woman said she would take extra care of that one. | |

| I don't understand how anyone can hurt their pet. Those people are sick and should be killed. They shouldn't even have a trial or take them to jail. Just shoot them as soon as they are caught abusing the animal. Those people are even worse than rapists, serial killers, and other criminals. It especially *#!es me off when people don't feed their pets. I have 2 dogs and I would rather give them all my food and starve myself than see them be hungry. If you can't take care of your pet, don't get one. People think that pets are just cute toys they can play with, but they're not. They're a big responsibility. Another thing I hate is those people who left their poor pets behind in hurricane Katrina and the pets died. Those people deserved to die instead and I'm not donating any of my money to them. I also hate people who don't like animals, even if they don't abuse them. There's something seriously wrong with you if you don't like animals. One time my friend and I were walking our dogs and her dog, who is really friendly, came up to some girl. The bitch said "Eww! Get that nasty thing away from me." So then, my friend punched her in the face, kicked her, broke her nose and her ugly fake French nails. She was arrested and got 2 years probation for that, but I think it was worth it. When I first met her, I didn't like her that much and thought she was kind of annoying, but after that she's one of the very few people I have any respect for. | |

| animal abusing is wrong, but some people who abuse animals have been abused themselves. before you think harshly of animal abusers, think of what hell they went through. some people need . putting them in jail or sentensing them to death wont . they need psychiatrist . how would you feel if you abused animals because of what happened to you? is what would want instead of going to jail. think about it | |

dis is 4 squirrel.. ok i kno u wouldnt give ur pets ur own food if u were starving to death.ppl in the holocaust killed their own parents for their food. i mean dont get me wrong if i saw somebody !abusing! not sayin "eww get that thing away frm me" id get mad but not everybody likes animals and 4 ur friend to go and do that and get in that much trouble just cuz some stupid girl dont like animals is not worth it. i also hate animal abusers but thats their business if i could do something i would but there r lotz of stupid ppl out there and u cant fix em up by jumpin them. and some1 else said that animal abusers are worse than killers there not!! they are just as pathetic.w/e i just wanted to support anybody who hates animal abusers.

| da jews were attacked brutally how could they not think of themselves.if u didnt take care of urself then no1 would.and not all humans can protect themselves. how bout the little girls and boys who get raped or killed they couldnt do anything about it. and i know that an animal will u unconditionally but i would not get in a fight jus cuz some1 dont like animals. and if i saw some1 abusing an animal i would do something about it but not that. thats why there is the animal police. imagine if a big azz guy was abusing his dog i couldnt go n fight him he'll end up hurting some1 else.(or sumthing) | |

| We got our dog from a close friend who found her in a ditch. I think she had her tail messed with because she still wont let you touch her tail to brush it or anything. | |

| People who abuse animals are disgusting excuses for human beings and should not be allowed to walk the face of the earth. And if i ever saw anyone abusing an animal i would step in no matter the size of the person. Abused animals need us and if you arent strong enough to them when we see them in need wat type of a person are you. | |

| I agree. If anyone abuses animals, there is something mentally wrong with them, just like any criminal for heavan's sake! I say step up with the enforcement and take action because animals are last priority when I comes to crime. Though, I may be best suitable for a highway patrolled jurisdiction, I have a heart for animals as well. | |
