Nickelback - Silver Side Up
Lead singer and guitarist Chad Kroegar wrote all of the songs on Silver Side Up.

This CD has songs about relationships, but there are also songs about important issues that live in society. The first track is my favourite, "Never Again", is told through the eyes of a child, who witnesses his father beating his mother. The boy witnesses the beatings, the trips to the hospital with his mother, and witnesses his mother's revenge, after he grows to hate his father.

The first single off of Silver Side Up, "How You Remind Me," tells of a depressing love relationship.
“Too Bad", deals with a common struggle for children: divorce. In this song, Chad Kroegar sings of a father never being there when needed, even if he wanted too. "Too Bad' vividly describes how bad it is for the family.

Track 5 is very open for your own interpretation. My interpretation of "Just For" tells of the sweet revenge he would like because someone violated and hurt someone he cared about. "Hollywood" is a catchy song, where the city takes him to a place of bad memories. "Money Bought" tells of a girl who is lonely and receives little attention from her parents, except for money. "Where Do I Hide" is a great song that tells stories about criminals. "Hangnail" condemns the dirty, stealing, lifestyle.
The title "Good Times Gone" is self-explanatory: the band wonders where have all the good times gone. The song can be interpreted for missing the peaceful times, which have been replaced by violence and all the misdeeds, in the world. Silver Side Up is a fantastic CD that touches on a variety of topics that other CDs don't. The songs on this CD are of quality and have meaning.
