Ashanti - Foolish
It opens with an intro that consists of vocals she performed on other people's songs before putting out her own album, and then it goes into her first single, the hit "Foolish." Despite the cheesy video, this is a good song. Track three is my favourite song, "Happy." "Leaving (Always On Time Part II)" is up next; it's upbeat and fits in with the style Ashanti seems to be building for herself musically. Ja Rule returns the favor by appearing on this song. Track 6, "Call," is my second favourite song on this album because it's one of those songs that you just pick up easily and can't get out of your head. Tracks seven and nine, "Scared" and "Baby" are not bad, but a little repetitive.
Rescue" is a song with a slower groove to it. It has a unique sound to it as well. Next up, "Voodoo," is another one that sounds more laid back. "Over" is another of the songs on this album that stands out to me. It runs a little long, but it has a different spin to a mainstream R&B style. "Unfoolish" is "Foolish" redone with lyrics that have her being strong enough to leave instead of running back to the bad relationship. "Dreams" is a positive song. The kids in the song were a cute touch.
Overall, Ashanti's album is solid.
