Band? Maybe.
I recently began practicing with a local band. They've been looking for a singer for months, and I knew about it from the beginning. One of the guys and I talked a few months back, but we both kind of stopped communicating, so nothing happened. A few weeks ago, I got back in touch with him and the other members, and actually went to practice with them. All of their songs have been written and done to suit a male range.
While I can do these songs, it's not my natural range. I'm a female soprano, which doesn't seem like the voice type for a rock band, but I'm going to do it anyway. I love to sing, this band happens to be quite awesome and I do believe they may be going places. I'd like to go along with them. I'm not officially a part of the band yet, but it feels good when we practice together, plus they're trying out covers from bands with female lead singers, which will help me be able to show exactly what I can do best. It's a lot of work, even for someone technically not in the band, but it's very rewarding and a lot of fun. I'd suggest joining a band to anyone who is musically inclined.
