Dashboard Confessional
I am a huge Dashboard Confessional fan. Go ahead, eat me apart. I've heard it all. "They stink, it's all whiney" "All the chords are simple, it's dumb" "Emo is awful." Yeah, whatever.
A lot of people, I believe, hear the name and don't give them a chance. I have been listening to them for as long as they've been around, and they have actually helped me through a lot of tough situations.
Anyway, I've been to numerous shows of theirs and every single one of them are extremely inspiring. Chris, the front man, has such excellent stage presence, it's incredible. It's getting kind of depressing though, my first few shows were all smallish shows and general admission. I would always be in the front. My most recent show however, was the first one ever that I've gone to with assigned seating. I got good seats, but it's sad that they are getting so big. I'm happy for them, but no more small shows. :( I've met them every time I've gone to a show, and when people meet them, usually they only want to meet Chris Carrabba, but I love meeting the other guys (Johnny Lefler, Mike Marsh, and Scott Shoenbeck). I also always end up hanging out with Chris's best friend and sometimes bandmate, but his own singer/songwriter John Ralston.
Anyway, I suggest checking out their stuff. Their CDs are A Swiss Army Romance, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, A Mark A Mission A Brand A Scar, Dusk and Summer, and they also have the So Impossible EP and Summer's Kiss EP.
I just wanted to share my story of Dashboard, and hope to get some of you into them. :)
