How do you make a website?!
I know all the HTML and stuff like that. I Just want to know what type of file to put it on and how to get it on the web. I've tried searching and reading about it but all I got was HTML but it never tells you what type of file to put it on or how to get it on the web. So, if you know of a website or a book that tells about that tell me. Or if you know how to do all of this e-mail me at Laurenwm@ msn. com or cutesnowball @mail. teenfx. com

thanks a lot!!!,

If you've typed up your html document is a text editor such as word you can save that file not as a .txt but as a .html or .htm file. Simply save the file as mywebsite.htm If you want to put your site on the web there are free site you can use such as geocites. A simple google search can find you a good free web space. You may also want to check with your internet provider. They often provide free webspace. When you are ready to upload your html files to the web, you may need a FTP program. You can find free ones at www.download.net by searching for FTP. Some free webspace sites have built in uploading tools. Once you have uploaded your file it may not show, that is because the name for you file should be something like index.htm or home.htm. These are default filenames that are usually needed.

Go here:  http://  www.htmlgoodies.com / primers / html / article.php / 3478141 (but without the spaces)

www.webmonkey.com is also a good site for web design and html.

Feel free to msg me or e-mail me through teenfx.

i sugest you go to a website like geocities, tripod or maxpages, or check if your ISP provides you with a tool, coz quite alot do. and also, if you have an acount with writing.com that's upgraded you can make one. sorry if you've been told a thousand times, by now

geocities and freewebs are pretty much your best choices for free web hosting. If your serious about your webpages look into buying a domain name.

Well, first off, are you speaking of FTP? Because if you have NOTEPAD, you can save your coding as an HTML file, and upload it to your account/folder on the web. And are you hosted, or want a free site? Because then yes, like Ally said, you really only can use Freewebs or Geocities since those are basically the only quality ones. You can also upload through Hostultra.com if they are still accepting free accounts. Hope I understood what you were saying.. not sure if I'm totally off.

Do you have like a URL and everything? That's usually people's first steps. I use geocities for mine and it works fine for me. You can choose to use the HTML editor or you can use the page builder and then you don't need any HTML knowledge at all. You can also do a mixture of both. So if that's what you need then go to www.geocities.com and set up a yahoo account and you can make your site from there!

It sounds like that's what you were asking for but I'm not sure so if you want you can email me at dancechik2889@msn.com and I'll try to help you if that wasn't what you were asking. :)
