I Wanna Learn About Cars!

I'm not just some chick that wants to learn about cars because of the guys. I sincerely want to know about cars. Not just basic common sense (I already have that, thank you very much) I want to be able to do my own car maintenance and be able to change a flat tire instead of calling Daddy on a cell phone. I want to know about engines and horsepower and all the things that I can use in real life. Even hotwiring a car would be nice. Legally, of course. I would love to work as a mechanic and I really want to learn everything there is to know. Does this seem unrealistic to anybody? Is there anyone who can help me, or should I just take baby steps? My friend's Dad is a mechanic and I try to spend time in the garage when I can. I just hope this is something achievable! Thanks for any help.

Hey frashta, A couple of things....Yes NOS (Nitrous oxide systems) will give your car more power, not really go faster. Dont belive everything you see in movies. Regardless of what you do to a car, it can only go so fast unless you make more power AND change gear ratios and tire sizes. More power alone will only let you get to the top speed quicker. And the bigest engine that i am aware of is a W-16 beeing built by Buggatti.

I want that for my car. Also the highest kind of engine you can have is a V-12.

Im not sur exactly what you wanna know, but if you have any questions just ask, I have done alot of stuff in my day, lol. If your really serious about learning about cars, then u can go toschool for it. i do. Im 20 and love workin on cars. I knew agirl who went here and she graduated. Now she is making 60k a year. If u wanna know more then write me @ regalracer1979@aol.com
